Safety Programs

The North Penn Visiting Nurse Association teaches a variety of safety courses on the campus of Central Montgomery Medical Center. For course dates and times and to register, call 215-855-6191 or visit www.npvna.org.

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION COURSES

Adult Heartsaver AED CPR
Learn how to resuscitate individuals ages 8 years old and up. One-rescuer and two-rescuer CPR, relief of foreign body airway obstruction and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) will be taught.

Fee:$35

American Heart Association CPR Instructor Course
Participants must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR card, demonstrate good manikin skills and possess favorable teaching qualities. The course is open to medical and non-medical persons who have time to commit to the program.

Fee:$200

CPR for Teens
Many teens have responsibilities to care for others but lack CPR skills. Are you prepared to save a life if someone stops breathing? Learn CPR for resuscitating adults, children and infants in a class designed for young adults. This course is an orientation to CPR and is NOT a certifying or credentialing course. A participation card will be provided.

Fee:$30

CPR Renewal Class/Community Level
A renewal class for people with a current Heartsaver or Pediatric CPR card.

Fee:$25

Healthcare Provider Level CPR
Comprehensive eight-hour program for nurses, doctors, healthcare professionals and aspiring CPR instructors. Training includes infant, child and adult CPR skills as well as the use of a bag-mask device and AED. A bi-valved mask is included.

Fee:$75

Healthcare Provider CPR Renewal
This refresher class includes hands-on AED practice for those with a current Healthcare Provider CPR card. You must bring a bi-valved mask or purchase one at class for an additional $15.

Fee:$40

Heartsaver First Aid
This eight-hour American Heart Association course teaches rescuers the knowledge and psychomotor skills they need to recognize emergencies at work. Receive training in first aid, adult CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Meets OSHA regulations.

Fee:$75

Pediatric/Infant and Child CPR
A four-hour course designed for parents and other caregivers of young children (birth to age 8).

Fee:$40; $65/couple

AMERICAN SAFETY & HEALTH INSTITUTE CLASSES

CABS Babysitting Course
This eight-hour course is designed to prepare sitters ages 11 and older for the challenge of babysitting. Personal and child safety, accident prevention and first aid for emergency situations will be addressed. Certified instructors will review techniques for childcare of children up to age 8.

Fee:$30

First Aid Course
Learn accident prevention and immediate care for bleeding, shock, fractures, burns, eye injuries, poisoning and more. You must hold a current CPR card to be accepted into this class.

Fee:$30

Safety Course at Your Site
We can arrange CPR or First Aid courses at your place of employment or group meetings. Call 215-855-6191 for information.
