Cooking With the Cardiologists – FREE
Watch Central Montgomery
Medical Center cardiologists
Jonathan Albin, MD and
Joseph Kraynak, MD prepare an
assortment of delicious, healthy foods while
providing ideas for lifestyle changes and
improved eating habits. At the end of the
program you can taste test the foods and take
home the recipes! Educational literature from
the American Heart Association, give-a-ways
and door prizes will also be available. This is
a cooperative program of the North Penn
Visiting Nurse Association and Central
Montgomery Medical Center and is sponsored
by the Cardiovascular Institute of
Philadelphia.

Community Parish Nurse Program
Parish Nursing, also known as Congregational
Nursing, is an interfaith community nurse
program tailored to your faith community. It
is our philosophy that Parish Nurses should
partner with congregational leaders, members,
volunteers and healthcare professionals to
enhance the spirit, mind and body of a faith

Introduction to Parish Nursing
This two-Saturday interactive program is
for registered nurses who have a working
knowledge of the Parish/Congregational
Nursing and Health Ministry. Presented
in cooperation with Holy Family University
Parish Nurse Recourse Program. Upon
completion of this course, 13.6 hours
will be awarded.
NEW! Nurses of the Roundtable
All Parish Nurses in the North Penn
area are invited to join in this monthly
discussion and sharing of ideas and
programs. Meets the second Thursday
of each month from 10 AM to 11:30 AM
at the North Penn VNA.
Diabetes Education Programs
Central Montgomery's ABC Diabetes
Education Program includes classes that
focus on your needs with real-life situations.
Classes provide a relaxed learning atmosphere
and are designed to complement physician
care. You will meet other diabetes patients
who share your concerns and offer support.
The program has been awarded recognition
by the American Diabetes Association and
classes are led by certified diabetes educators.

Focus on Motherhood – FREE For the Younger Parent
This 12-week program offers support and
education for pregnant adolescents, fathers
to-be and their families. Sponsored by
Child, Home and Community of
Montgomery County, this comprehensive
prenatal course addresses the physical and
emotional aspects of a healthy pregnancy.

Let's Get Healthy and Fit – For Kids
This 6-week group nutrition program is
especially designed to help kids ages 8-12
better manage their weight and develop
healthier eating and activity patterns.
Healthier habits can produce gradual weight
loss and enhanced self-esteem. Each class will
include a "hands on" nutrition class as well as
an exercise component. Sessions will address
topics such as fast foods, school lunches,
social gatherings, feelings about food and new
food sampling. A registered dietitian and/or
exercise specialist will be present.

Healthy Relationships – FREE
The Women's Center of Montgomery
County will discuss the characteristics of
healthy and unhealthy relationships and
identify warning signs of a potentially
dangerous situation. Resources for help
will be addressed. The program is appropriate

Sahaja Yoga is a method of meditation

Tai Chi for Arthritis
A short, easy to learn, effective program
designed by Paul Lam to help improve
mobility, strength, posture and balance
while relieving stress, pain and stiffness for
those with arthritis and other conditions.
This is an exercise option that is gentle,
enjoyable, practical and suitable for almost
anyone wishing to move with more ease and
vitality. Taught by Julie Collins, movement
educator and director of Windhorse
Movement Options, Inc. Pre-registration
is required.
