Community Parish Nurse Program
Parish Nursing, also known as Congregational Nursing, is an interfaith community nurse program tailored to your faith community. Please call 215-855-8296 for more information and upcoming programs.

Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis Update -- FREE
Steven Nack, MD, gastroenterologist, will address these serious inflammatory diseases of the small and large intestines that can cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, rectal bleeding and fever, resulting in decreased appetite and weight loss. Treatment options and current disease management techniques will be discussed.

Diabetes Education Programs
Central Montgomery's ABC Diabetes Education Program has been awarded recognition by the American Diabetes Association. Classes are designed to complement physician care in a relaxed learning atmosphere and are led by certified diabetes educators that focus on your needs with real-life situations. NEW! Healthy HEART Style
Confused about fat, cholesterol and carbohydrates? What are trans fats? Attend this four-week program to get your questions answered by a registered dietitian and learn how to read labels, plan menus, sift through the supplement maze and choose healthy alternatives when eating out. Classes will include hands-on exercises and interactive participation including taste testing low-fat recipes.

Family Caregiver's Festival – FREE
In celebration of national family caregiver's month, drop in between 4 and 7 PM to receive valuable gifts and door prizes, homemade soup and bread, free massage, reflexology and Reiki therapy, talk to long-term-care professionals and consultants, learn about community resources and muchmore. With pre-registration, respite care is available at no charge from the NPVNA Adult Day Services, Souderton Center.

Focus on Motherhood – FREE For the Younger Parent
This 12-week program offers support and education for pregnant adolescents, young fathers to-be and their families. Sponsored by Child, Home and Community of Montgomery County, this comprehensive prenatal course addresses the physical and emotional aspects of a healthy pregnancy.

NEW! Healthy Eating and Body Image: For Kids and Teens
This six-week nutrition program is designed to help kids ages 8-12 develop healthy eating and activity patterns. Healthier habits can produce gradual weight loss and enhanced self-esteem. Each class will include a "hands-on" nutrition class as well as an exercise component. Nutritionist Karen Aubert will discuss nutrition, fast food, school lunches, social gatherings and feelings about food. A registered dietitian and/or exercise specialist will be present for each session.

Healthy Relationships – FREE
The Women's Center of Montgomery County will present the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships and identify the warning signs of a potentially dangerous situation. Resources for help will be addressed. Appropriate for all ages.

Hospice Volunteer Training – FREE

Joint Replacement Seminars – FREE
Central Montgomery Medical Center's Acute Rehab Unit and North Penn Orthopedics will offer an educational seminar to discuss exercise prior to surgery, pre-admission testing, admission, surgery, recovery, rehabilitation and aftercare.

The Diabetes Connection – FREE
The Albertson's Pharmacy Diabetes Care Pharmacists will present this lecture designed to educate the general population about diabetes and to offer free enrollment for a program that provides immediate screening and follow-ups at six and nine months.

Tai Chi for Arthritis
A short, easy to learn, effective program designed by Paul Lam to help improve mobility, strength, posture and balance while relieving stress, pain and stiffness for those with arthritis and other conditions. Taught by Julie Collins, movement educator and director of Windhorse Movement Options, Inc.

Parent and Teen Relationships – FREE
This two-hour workshop is provided by the Women's Center of Montgomery County. Learn how parents and their teenagers can interact and communicate with each other more effectively, particularly as it relates to the dynamics of healthy dating relationships. Information and resources will be identified to help parents cope with their teen's emerging independence.
